I have some of this stuff at home - the big pressurized spray bottle of
it. No, I did not purchase this bottle, if I had it would have been
around $20. IMHO way too much. The stuff does make a suprising
difference on cars that are VERY lightly soiled, but I don't feel it is
worth the hassle to put in on. I have not noticed any swirl marks - you
don't really have to buf the stuff off. I would say that it does remove
wax; It is based on good old petroleum distillates.
Basically you pump up the bottle and spray the stuff on the dirty car,
wipe across it while still wet (this is what picks up the dirt) then let
it dry to a haze and wipe it off with a clean rag. You CANNOT do this
in the sun or when the car body is hot. It will streak like you would
not belive. The stuff is very similar to any spray on car wax, and is
extra-watery (technical term) in consistency.
Again, I feel it is not worth the hassle to use. The stuff does not
last nearly as long as any wax I have ever used, but it does give a
pretty nice shine and some water beading. My time would be better
spent washing the car with WATER, then using a no-buffing car wax like
NU FINISH (which seems to last and last, but not for 1 year like they
say). However, those of you with cars on display at shows and such may
have road grime that needs to be removed. This is about the only thing
I could see using DRI WASH for. I have seen a new product at Walmart by
Armor-All that is VERY similar to DRI WASH, in a bigger bottle and only
about $4. I am pretty sure it is a direct copy of DRI WASH, but I'm not
going to try it myself. It might be a good way to try out "dry washing"
technology without spending big bucks. Alternatively, you should be
able to get a free tiny sample bottle of DRI WASH from a distributor,
but you need to ask yourself if it is worth hearing the sales pitch.
