Bonjour all,
Okay, I realized that I am a child amoung men in here (I'm only
21), but I have noticed something...and I am sure you all have, too. I
bought my first British car after I graduated from high school...it was a
'72 Spitfire. And no matter what my friends said about it needing
constant tinkering or it's lack of paint, I loved my car. Living in
Arizona, you can imagine that there is top down weather 10 months a year.
Whenever I pass a fellow British car owner we always exchange a wave. It
seems there is some kind of invisible bond amoungst us all. I asked my
Dad, and he responded "It's because we all know what it is like to pull
the transmission and have to tinker with the carburator every month." Is
this it? Do we all just feel sorry for one another? Many times when
climbing into my "new" car (my Dad's first car, a '71 GT6), I'll have
people come up to me and share their own British car stories. It does not
really surprise me any more, but it's still somewhat odd. My car can
bring two complete strangers together for a chat out in a parking lot in
the blazing Arizona heat in the summer. Amazing. Okay, just my 2% of a
dollar.
Thoughts, comments?
Sincerely,
Bryan
