Hi all,

With all of the good TR models available, the TR4 is all but forgotten. I
did the D&R Replicas 1:43 cast metal TR4 kit. It had a few hassles, and
what looked to be a week's work dragged on all summer, although it
eventually turned out OK. I did come across an excellent TR4 in 1:87 (HO
scale). It is made in Germany by Wiking. It comes in dark blue with a gray
interior and RHD. It has a clear plastic windscreen and headlight lenses,
and injection molded wire wheels that operate. The bottom side has the
lower A arms, sump, bellhousing, frame, rear axle, exhaust, and even the
ribs in the bottom of the spare tire well. All this and more in a model an
inch and a half long.

How to get one? Go to a hobby shop that's heavy into model railroading and
ask to see a Walthers HO scale catalog. It runs about 975 pages. The
vehicles section is 75 pages of cars, trucks, buses, military, construction,
etc etc. Quite a few LBCs are listed: XK120s, D and E type Jags, Morgans,
Minis, MGAs, Healeys, Cobras and everything else from a Trabant to a Porsche
959. The TR4 is no. 781-81501 and costs $12.00. BTW, none of these are in
the EWA catalog.

Cheers,

John Lye just mentioned getting a 1/18 scale TR3 model.
