I had the same experience, with my late TRusty '76 Pinto. Ran very
poorly on stock or higher-heat Autolites, same on Champions. I was
beginning to think my $50. car was really scrap. Then I put in a
set of Bosch Platinums, HR8DPX as I recall, and the difference was
truly amazing. Ran just fine for 70,000 more miles, til the 2300cc
engine spun a bearing at 130,000. Scrapped it. Got my $50. back,
since I could still drive it (barely) to the scrap yard, and that's
what they paid me.

Again, just as Jack said, just substitute Triumph (MC) for Norton.
