Folks-
Thanks very, very much for the quick and thorough responses! Here are a few
goodies I left out of my 'spare parts/tools' list that others have pointed out.
I'm going to summarize the complete list and put it up on the TR6 web site
(http://www.mit.edu/people/zimerman/tr6.html).
-Flares
-Work light/lantern and car battery-powered lamp
-Permatex Gasket Sealant
-A CELLULAR PHONE AND AAA! (I got mine already! With 100mi towing!)
-Jumper Cables
-A collapsible gas/water can; suggested I keep it EMPTY except for emerg.
-A CB radio
-a 12v air pump (got one)
-Fix-a-Flat (will these work on tube tires? I'm running Michelin reds)
-A spare water pump/fuel pump/starter/alternator (all roadside swaps)
-a bonking stick/BFHammer
-Complete tunig set (points, condensor, rotor, plugs)
-DUCT TAPE AND BALING WIRE!
-A tow strap
-spare bulbs/fuses, electrical tape, spare wire, multimeter
-the MANUALS (Bentley/Haynes)
...that, plus my list, is the gist so far. I don't think I'm gonna fit in the
car. It was pointed out most sagaciously by several that what I don't bring is
what I'm gonnna need, so overstuffing reduces the likelihood of breakdown.
In any case, I'll be emailing with my Newton MP2K; if I go down, it'll be
fighting with a Maglite in my teeth and Duct tape and screwdriver in clenched
fist; you'll hear me roar. :-)
Thanks again for all the tips, scenic advice, offers of phone numbers. I'm
going to have all of your messages in he Newton, with me. With spare batteries.
-JBZimmerman!
