Wait a minute! You don't have to do all that. The belt will slip between
the crossmember and the pulley (or damper) by tugging like hell. It's not
easy, but beats 1-6 above. I believe pre-'73 cars had 3/8" belts and the
later ones have 1/2" belts which make the CF cars more of a challenge,
but I've done it several times and never removed anything(other than the
old belt, which I cut to ease removal.
