Vic Whitmore indicated that he had a b**h of a time getting the wheel bear
caps off of his 76 Spitfire.
<<< I finally got real p****d off and wacked it off with a screw driver and
hammer, totally destroying it. But I got to the bearing! Suggestions anyone?

Vic: I remember my first go around with wheel bearing caps and had a similar
experience. Unfortunately the BIGGER HAMMER THEORY doesn't work too well.
Since the wheel bearings are not exposed to view the trick is to put four or
five equally spaced divits in the wheel bearing cap to develop flat spots
from which you can get some leverage with a hammer and screw driver to force
the caps off. Take it slow and work around the cap.
