I have recently purchased a 1979 TR7 dhc and have also recently subscribed to
the TR8 and Triumphs mailing lists.
I have been a lbc fan and owner for 20 years but it was always one of those
other ones(M*) this is my first Triumph. So far so good!
I have a couple of questions to ask and I hope I can get some much needed
replies.
The PO changed the ignition to a Crane Unit and I have found numerous wires
hanging around by the distributor,I know that the external resistor should be
disconnected but my tach also doesn't work and I am wondering if this was left
unhooked? How does the wire for the tach hook up if this is the case? Does
anyone have the paper work on the Crane Cam Ignition unit that I could get a
copy of?
The next subject is the exhaust, Will a pre-converter down tube and exhaust
pipe fit on a car originally fitted with a cat-converter?
If anyone has a passenger seat fabric covering in the full cloth-face in tan
let me know maybe I can take it off your hands. I guess somebody must be
selling them individually because the drivers seat has been replaced but not
the Passenger
