Ken Galanders of British Frame & Engine, located in Southern (Temple?)
California, sells a harmonic dampener kit for the TR 4 cylinder engine.
This kit was designed to allow you to rev the engine higher than 5,000 RPM
without breaking the crank. The kit consists of a harmonic dampener and a
alloy fan belt for the water pump, and a new NARROW fan belt.
When I put one on my TR3 one of the things I had to do was place a narrow
pully on the generator. This kit requires that you add an electric fan.
It would be a nice solution for a altenator conversion and make the car
more reliable if yu tend to rev high on occasion.
