I will concede that the front & rear sections may be weaker. But in their
defence I have never seen one break thru NORMAL wear & tare. I have seen
some near the beach, with massive rust start to give way after big Hp
engines were installed, and the kids though it was fun to jump gutters and
spoon drains at 60 mph.we lost a lot of heralds that way.
My herald Estate 1200cc has clocked 125 mph in 1980 ( down a big steep hill
and police fine to prove it & it was country then, not suburia as it is now
) the speedo needle has never worked since, it just waves now.
