Use a high enough octane to prevent detonation, ie: if the engine runs
well on 87 octane without pinking, use 87 octane. If detonation occurs,
try using the next higher octane level, until the detonation
dissappears. You could also be using a high octane fuel for no reason
at all, like, there could be carbon deposits on the head leading to
detonation. Remove the carbon deposits and use a lower octane fuel.
