Overdrive was definitely *NOT* standard on all TR6s after 1974.
Indeed, even in the 1975 & 1976 cars, overdrive was a moderately
uncommon option.

I don't know if it was the case that home market (British) TR6s
had overdrive standard in '75 and '76.  If they did, this may
be the source of confusion.  Generally, most of the TR books I
have seen have much inaccurate information regarding US-spec 
cars.
