Thanks for your response.  

I have a bolted up flywheel.  That is what started all of this for me.  I
was changing my thrust washers and con rod and main bearing shells.  The
con rods are done and very tight, right on the low end of the new specs
at 0.003.  The rear main, however, cannot be removed because the TR4
bolted up flywheel is flat on the front, whereas the TR3 flywheel is
concave.  The concave front of the TR3 flywheel allows the rear main cap
to be removed with the rear main seal still attached.  The TR4's flat
front does not.  DPO's!  I know I get the benefit of a syncro first gear,
but.....................
