Sounds to me like water in the oil most of the time caused ny the
infamous blown head gasket. Engines with water in the oil tend to whip
up the oil/water combo into a white froth. I had a Toyota years ago
display the exact same symptoms. I hope I'm wrong, although replacing a
1500 head gasket shouldn't be too difficult.
