Fellow Scions,
Well, just to let you all know, the Spit is back on the road!!!!!
And, it looks better than ever, since it now sports a real paint job rather
than
my backyard job done several years ago (it looked good from a distance, but up
close........) Maybe this'll end up as a good thing. The Spit spent 6 weeks
in
the shop, though being over the holidays had something to do with that.
I was just so happy to have the car back that I've already driven it to work
several times (my commute averages an hour to hour and a half each way) even in
weather that was below 30F. I didn't care.
Only drawback is that the wife really considers it "her" car now. So, if you
are in the Gaithersburg, MD area and see a BRG MkIII Spit driving around with a
blonde at the wheel, that's it. Only time it hasn't been driven is on a day
like today, with snow, ice, and slush.
Additionally, I'd like to thank all the listmembers who generously offered
their
assistance, some even offering free parts! I was given the glove boxes, door
latch and wipers I needed, and the door glass for $10 (complete with a BL stock
sticker). I cannot thank everyone enough. Also if anyone has any
reccomendations for car alarms I'd appreciate it.
Thanks again.
Paul
