While we're on the subject of theft-proofing:
The only problem I've had with car thieves and my Herald is with the
glove box. I used to keep it locked, even though there was never
anything of value in it. One sunny day it was parked with the hood down
and some bright spark thought he'd (I'm reasonably safe to assume car
thieves are "he"s, aren't I) take a look in the 'box. Result: Broken
hinge, broken wood, another item on the repair list. Now I keep the
'box unlocked always, so it's less likely to get broken in future.

PS: Whenever I park the car, even in the garage, I use a steering lock
(like a Club) - an Eagle Claw brand one that's pretty substantial.
