Thanks to those of you that responded to my previous message about
lack of power and overheating.
Picked up the car today from a LBC specialist garage. Although I
bought it from a self-proclaimed mechanic, the timing was, in
technical terms, "way, way off." The rear brake shoes were also in
upside down (the mechanic said they would have worked great if only I
drove in reverse at high speeds).
The temp gauge was also broken, since you could actually hold the
radiator when the gauge read 300 degrees.
So, I now have a car that runs at a cool 95, and can actually reach
60mph. Now, to get of the little squeeks and the noisy exhaust...
