Eric,
To the best of my knowledge, the only way to get a ceramic coating is to pay
the big bucks and have one of the services such as Jet-Hot Coatings do the job.
I have had painted headers, chrome headers and both do not last very long. On
the TR4A, I paid the $150 to coat the header with the Jet-Hot Silver coating.
It looks awesome, we will see if it stays this good over the long run. The
header, since it is new, is given a lifetime warranty if treated by Jet-Hot.

Subject: Paint for exhaust headers
I know this has been discussed before, but I can't find the email. What
paint to people recommend for the exhaust header? I bead blasted mine &
painted it with high a heat aluminum, but I recall someone mentioning that
ceramic may be a better way to go. If so, where can I get ceramic? The
rest of my exhaust is stainless, so it's only the header I'm concerned
about.
