One last thought about your acceleration problem ... once you¹ve checked
everything else ...
A ¹69 is likely to have a rusty fuel tank, unless it has been tended to in the
relatively recent past. An acquaintance of mine told a story about a GT6 he
had that idled perfectly, but died whenever he applied a load to it. He tried
many fixes, but the only thing that worked was when he pulled the tank, had a
shop boil it out, repainted it and solved his problem thusly.
Can I say that, ªsolved his problem thuslyª? Gee.
There are, incidentally, chemical solutions for cleaning and resealing your
tank, should it come to that. Also, you can easily get a reading on tank rust
by pulling your fuel filter and/or carbeurator and looking at what comes out ...
