As one of the "victims" of Mark's "unilateral" decision to digestify
all AOL users, I want to say that I understand his reason for doing
so, and if I had to deal with all the errors that happen with mailing
lists of this size I'm not sure I'd be as patient.
Remember, Mark pointed out that AOL mailboxes fill up pretty quickly,
and it doesn't take too much to start error mail messages flying all
over the world.
I chose to use my AOL account for Triumphs mail because it was the
only mail engine I had that showed the true addresses of the senders.
I could switch to one of my other accounts, but now I actually like
getting the digest. True, it's not as timely, but for me it's not a
big deal.
Anyway, please don't get your shorts in a bunch without realizing that
Mark is already spending a lot of time with these lists, and that it's
AOL's shortcoming that is the root of this whole problem.
And actually, if you get a connection through an ISP you can now get
unlimited AOL time for $9.95 a month. So you can have a non-AOL email
address and still access AOL! No connections, blah blah blah.
