According to Thomason's "Triumph Spitfire and GT6 A Guide to Originality"
the '71 Spitfire MKIV (production # FH3-FH19,461) was available in Wedgwood
Blue (w/Black or Shadow trim or Blue trim), Sapphire Blue (with Silver Grey
or Shadow Blue trim) and Valencia Blue (w/ Black or Tan trim). From the
author's Color Scheme page, Wedgewood Blue (Code 36) looks to be a medium
light blue. Sapphire Blue (code 76) looks to be almost a dark jewel tone
blue. Valencia Blue (Code 66) is a dark, almost greenish blue.
Close to a Navy, but brighter? I'd guess the Sapphire Blue.
