I've just fitted K+Ns to my '73 Spit and have, on TriumphTunes advice,
bought new needles and springs to go with them. Apparently the inreased
airflow throught he filters needs the new parts in the carb to make the
most of this extra air. I've got 'yellow' rated springs and CUD1040(??)
can't remember off the top of my head needles. There is a page in Moss'
Triumphtune performance catalogue listing which combination to use for
the carbs ( remember mine are HS2s). Haven't had this setup running yet
but have witnessed the benefits on a 1275GT Min and 1300 with HS4 Spit -
bith ran very well. If you don't have the catalogue let me know and I'll
look up the req'd bits for you.

Secondly - window fitting on the Spit - I look forward to hearing some
results - have got some new inner and outer seals to try and sort this
problem out on my '73 MkIV - hard top is on and I get the same prob -
this is due on the passenger side to a lack of the metal and fur strip
which holds the door top on - any UK Spit owner got one for sale or know
where I can get one - haven't seen them in any of the catalogues

Cheers

Rich
..Spit closer to MOT but his starter solenoid started to smoke when
trying to start it and tune it up... :-(
