The right angle adaptor IS 1:1, so is the counter thingie on the later
TR6's. No one changes the rear axle ratio (though it would be much
better/easier/cheaper than putting in an OD, use the European gears,
3.45:1 vs. US 3.70:1), so its impossible right?
No, it just means the J-type was pinched from a Spit or other donor
car with different factory ratio due to smaller tires/gearing/etc.
Its appears you have to change BOTH worm pieces, one of which is
inside on the mainshaft. There are lots of J-types out there, but
this is the type of minor details ($$$$) you have to deal with to
do it right if you just get the OD itself.
