Perhaps not as silly as you imagine...
The TR6 motor should have the #1 cylinder in the front next to the water
pump.
But, how about you TR7 guys...where's the no 1 on that motor ? Before you
answer, consider where the no. 1 cylinder is on that species of motor when
they put it in the SAAB 99 seies cars ?
Speaking of SAAB motors, which cylinder do you think is the no 1 on the three
cyl 2-stroke cars ? Big Hint...the crank was 3 pieces pressed together, and
when you wanted to time it, the end cylinders were very "late" due to crank
flex.
