Steve, You should contact Red Line and ask them if their product is safe for use around yellow metals. I use Amsoil 75w90 GL5 in my 74½ TR-6 (J-type). Amsoil gear lubes meet a specification called MT-1. This means that no matter what the GL rating, they are completely safe for use with yellow metals (copper, bronze, brass) My transmission is noticably easier to shift as well as the operation of the OD is quicker to engage and disengage.
