I have a 1979 Spitfire with a 74 engine. The exhaust system is a header,
front tailpipe and muffler. Apparently the header is burnt through and I
have a small amount of noise and exhaust in the engine compartment. Is it
feasible to replace these in my home shop (without a lift)? I have found
parts catalogs that can supply everything, but it isn't clear if I need to
weld. (I can't)
I can lift the entire auto on my drive up ramps and jackstands, will this be
high enough?
Any advice would be appreciated!
