There is a physical OD unit that is installed directly behind the
transmission and may look like a part of the tranny if you've never seen
one before. The OD unit has a switch on its left side that has a rubber
cap on it and a wire connected to it....there will also be two wired
switches on the top of the transmission in front of the shift lever...
BTW...addding an OD is not too big a problem as most (not the early ones)
are interchangeable and can be added (assuming you can locate a suitable OD
unit)

The TR 3 has one of two kinds of OD switches on the dash a) a push/pull or
a toggle...either should be located to the far left of the dash (LHD
cars)....ON the dash (assuming a standard installation...not a DPO bodge)
