Okay, I know.  I'm a smartass.  Basically, you hook the bulb between the 
coil and battery.  Rotate the crank till your at 10° BTDC, then turn the 
distributor counter-clockwise till the light comes on.  Then turn the 
distributor clockwise till the light goes out.  Tighten everything down, 
replace the coil wire, and off you go.

It's a little more complicated than that, but not much more.
