Greetings everyone,
Sometimes, I have some of the answers, now I have a question, but with
only 50% Triumph relevance.
Here we go.
I am doing a 59 Bugeye Sprite for a friend.
Now, here's the Triumph part.
We have removed the Sprite spindles and drums and replaced them, after
considerable machine work, with spindles and disc brakes from a 67
Spitfire.
Problem.
The steering arm as it comes off the vertical link from the Spit, is
about four inches lower than the steering arm that was originally on the
Sprite.
The owner wants to ultimately wants to use this car for street/autox
and I am open for suggestions on how best to mount the steering rack so
I don't have to cut through the front cross members and use a series of
universal joints for the steering column to reach the steering rack so I
can make the tie rods reach the steering arms.
I know it's confusing, and what I am trying to relate is very difficult
to do without diagrams.
How about it Andy Mace, any suggestions????
Best Regards,
Tony
