Tire sizes that work very well are 205/70R15 or 215/65R15 (although you 
should have rims 1/2" wider thatn stock, but I don't).

I am running Pirelli P4000's and am quite satisfied with the performance 
in both wet and dry conditions.  Also, the ride is not harsh at all.
