Early TR6 Paint Question

I'm repainting my fathers '69 TR6 and have a question about the black paint
used on the windshield frame and tail end. Some PO has repainted the car. The
rear was painted black but the windshield frame was not. After removing the
windshield, we found the original color under the rubber seal not black. This
is an early TR6 with the TR250 style hubcaps. Was the black paint used or was
the car all one color?
