Ok Ok Ok -
I realize as I get older I am becoming more and more anal -
HOWEVER - this is bothering the dickens out of me.
As I understand it - in '68 Triumph put a Chrome valve cover and RoStyle
wheels on the TR250. In 69 they went to steel wheels and in 69 or 70 they
went to a painted valve cover. Painted the same color as the wheeels.
So far am I correct ? ? ? ? ? ?
Next, the recent thread about the correct silver paint is for the wheels, (I
presume) and therefore also the valve cover.
Am I still correct ? ? ? ? ? ?
Finally - I have matched the color of my wheels with a paint called Ferguson
Grey - however this is not the same as the Ford Silver color earlier
mentioned.
I ran into another '74 TR6 in town today (not before known to me - Baton
Rouge LA) - and this car had silver centers (mine are black) and SILVER
wheels (mine are grey and contrast with the trim rings) After scouring my
reference material (a dirth of COLOR pictures) I have seen wheels that appear
to be more silver and wheels that appear to be more grey and contrast with
the trim rings.
NOW - after having spent the week-end painting the valve cover to match my
wheels - I just thought I might ask -
WHICH IS IT - GREY or SILVER ? ? ? ? ? ?
Am I ever confused . .. . . I have seen picutres to validate what I have
done, but also seen some that seem to conflict. I realize that this is
really no big deal - BUT
Inquiring minds want to know - HELP
Comments/Observations/Theories/Ideas/any help appreciated
