Oh, by Factory AC, I mean the one that was NEVER produced, i.e.
in-the-dash heater/defroster/AC w/HP fan in place of the heater unit.
Well just a quick note to let you know this is COOL. In case
anyone missed my previous post:
>Please email me a name and address if you or friends are interested in
>purchasing a "1996 factory" A/C for your TR6. Cost will be under
>$1,000.00 for the complete system:
>
> 1. HFC-134a refrigerant
> 2. New heater/defroster/AC unit with high CFM fan
> (replaces heater and attaches to existing wires/controls/ducts)
> 3. Condenser, pusher fan, thermostat, drier fit inside radiator shroud
> 4. New high efficiency low HP compressor
> 5. All hoses/fitting, etc. included, uses existing bulkhead holes

I have one detail to work out on 69-74 cars and I'll be able to
have the entire setup documented including instructions. I suspect
with a volume of 10 kits we can obtain a substantial discount.
Most of the kit came from Vintage Air, but I'm not sure they'll kit
it. Upon seeing my car, they may change their mind.
For the moment I have no extra fan, nor oil cooler and it seems fine.
I suspect today in Austin was about 100F degrees, so I'll have to
wait for a warm day to really stress it...
I for one am glad this project is completed! More info later.
Sorry, got to go ride around with the top down and AC on.
