Fellow motorheads, One material suggested recently for possible use as bushing stock was Vespel, a `hard' Teflon made by DuPont. It's great stuff, makes gas-tight seals that withstand 350'C, etc. but unless prices for it have taken a serious dive recently, just the stock to make a few bushings would cost hundreds of dollars. Correct me if I'm wrong, but we don't use much at my lab because it is (or was) so expensive. Tom Tweed ak627@dayton.wright.edu TR-250 TR-6 R (650cc) Enfield .303 |
