Results of my dilema thus far...
I traveled 60 miles to Englishtown, NJ and picked up 5 steel wheels that
were advertised in Hemmings.
Cost: $65. (P.S. the guy also has a plug in voltage regulator for $10 and a
TR3 transmission if anybody needs that stuff) .My local mechanic found two
of the 5 wheels to be true.
The wheels are red...I thought all wheels were silver-grey?
I plan to repaint them silver...Yes?
My local mechanic friend not only checked my wheels, but he bleed my
hydraulic system and I was able to use the clutch and take an evening drive
to Piermont, NY with the top down. Piermont, NY was the setting for Woody
Allen's "Purple Rose of Cairo".
By the way the charge for the above woik was $0.
The Brit. Car specialist has been too busy for me to flat bed my car to
him. I've decided to order the front end stuff meself and have my local
mechanic friend do the woik. Thus far he's cleaned the brakes, installed
new tubless tires, bled the hydraulics and diagnosed my front end problems.
Seems as though he's doin' allright. Besides I've been told that these TR 3
tractor engines are pretty simple to woik on.
I may make it to the Mahwah Car Show after all.
Ciao!
