The first thing to try in this situation is to turn the starter with 
your foot on the clutch.   If this doesn't work, try push starting it 
in second, and driving it round for a bit (assuming you can do this 
off road or you live on a quiet street!) keeping your foot on the 
clutch all the time.   It should free up after a while.   A friend of 
mine with a Mk111 Spit succeeded in freeing his clutch by doing this.
