The Triumph Register of Southern California (TRSC) is proud to announce
Triumphest '96 at the Northwoods Resort, Big Bear, Ca., Sept. 27-29, 1996.

Triumphest is the western regional Triumph convention held annually each fall.
TRSC is proud to be a co-founder of this event together with the Desert Center
Triumph Register of America in Phoenix, Arizona. From its humble beginnings
in 1981 with ten Triumphs attending, Triumphest has grown into a major event
with attendance of 200+ cars and 400+ enthusiasts from all over the western
states. Triumphest is a weekend of fun and events designed to enhance the
enjoyment of your Triumph and promote comraderie among your fellow enthusiasts
and club members. Triumphest is hosted each year by a different club on a
rotating basis. Each year the host club strives to produce a unique event
designed for the enjoyment of all Triumph enthusiasts.

The theme for Triumphest '96 is "Preserving the Marque". 1996 marks the 50th
anniversary of the debut of the Standard-built Triumphs. In March, 1946, the
first of the post-war Triumphs were introduced which began the famous line of
cars that captured the loyalty and dedication of enthusiasts the world over. To
celebrate this milestone, TRSC will mount a "Tiumph Heritage" display where we
hope to present a fine example of each Triumph model from 1946 to the end of
production in 1981.

This year Triumphest '96 will be held at the beautiful Northwoods Resort in Big
Bear Lake, California. Big Bear Lake is in the San Bernardino Mountains and
offers a beautiful location in the midst of alpine forests with miles of winding
mountain roads that out Triumphs were made for. The area itself offers many
attractions including hiking, boating and horseback riding. The Northwoods
Resort is a complete resort facility, less than 2 years old. The entire facility
has been reserved for Triumphest '96 participants at a special rate. But call
early to make your reservations and make sure to mention "Triumphest '96" to get
the special rate. Make your reservations today, one-third of the rooms are
already booked! Phone numbers and addresses are all at the end of this message.

Triumphest '96 registration forms will be mailed out soon to clubs and previous
Triumphest attendees. Early registration is encouraged! There is a $10 discount
for registering prior to August 15. Also, all event apparel must be pre-ordered
along with your registration. Availability of event apparel at Triumphest will
be very limited so make sure to pre-order!

Events! For the first time in many years, we will have a proper Autocross! This
will be a moderate speed, timed event held at the Snow Summit ski area. Cars
will be required to pass a general tech inspection and participants are
encouraged to bring a helmet. Loaner helmets will be available but will most
likely be in demand. For the more leisurely paced we will have the Bear Mountain
Rally through the lovely alpine forests. A local walking rally is also planned
as well as a few games of "skill". The ever popular Funcours will again be the
centerpiece of the weekend. The gold/silver/bronze award judging system ensures
that all deserving Triumphs are recognized. There will be a special award for
Best Display by a Funcours entrant. The official theme will be "Preserving Your
Marque"... that is, what do you pack in your car to ensure yours/its survival on
the road. How creative are you?

This year, we are proud to welcome Triumph author and historian Bill Piggott to
Triumphest '96. Mr. Piggott is the author of "Original Triumph TR" and "Triumph
by Name, Triumph by Nature" and is a recognized authority on the Triumph marque.
Mr. Piggott will be on hand to autograph copies of his books and answer your
questions on Triumph history.

Many more events are planned including the Moss/TRSC Hospitality Party, Photo &
Model Contests, Moss Motors Pinewood Derby, The Roadster Factory Store and the
Awards Banquet.

Updates and information about Triumphest '96 will be posted regularly.
