Dear Scions of Lucas The word I get about changing over from DOT 4 to DOT 5 is that the brake system must be scrupulously clean before adding DOT 5 fluid. I just changed my system over and thats because I rebuilt the entire system (Master cylinder, wheel cylinders, calipers, AND new brake hoses). I also removed, inspected and flushed out all steel brake lines. This was all part of a frame replacement and is too much work to do just to do a fluid change. I recommend staying with DOT 4. Dave |
