Piston Rings (Pete Fullam)

I experienced the same problems some time ago with my TR3A. Most likely your
Hepolites were fitted with chrome rings, and they have not seated. In my
situation, I removed the pistons, discarded the chrome rings, purchased new
cast iron rings, honed the cylinders, then reassembled. As soon as you have
it running, take the car out on the road for a drive and set the rings.
