The Lumenition part tends not to be available from US distributors, who favor
the US-produced Crane/Allison.
I *believe* that TriumphTune handles Lumenition; I'm fairly certain that Seven
Enterprises does, as well, though they may not have the 6-cylinder part in
stock.
There's a new player in the market, usually called some variant of "ignitor".
These were apparently developed by the folks at JAE (a Lotus shop) out of some
parts for industrial (i.e., stationary) engines. They use a custom baseplate to
fit your distributor, and replace the points and condensor setup with a hall
effect trigger. To the rest of your ignition system, it looks like a set of
points with a very high current capacity.
The best part of this is that there are no external boxes to install, and you
can keep the original baseplate with points, etc, in your toolbox and swap it
back in if you need to.
I haven't yet had a chance to try this, but I will soon. JAE was selling them
for around $90. Moss mentioned them a couple of newsletters ago at a
considerably higher price.
