I think you may have some of that wrong - in the US, at least, if you ordered O/D you got the 3.89 rear end. Many of the internal bits of the GT6+ gearbox are interchangeable with the later Spit 1500/TR7 fourspeed box - in fact, this is the recipe for making the strongest possible gearset in that form factor. Don't forget that you can throw a 3.69 (I think) rear end from the later spits in there as well... It's entirely possible that the gearboxes will bolt up to either bell housing; I've never tried that. I *believe* that the input shafts have a different number of splines. |
