I suggest adding a Crane HI-6 unit to your car, cost about $160.  I've got
one on my autocrossing Spitfire.  It is a capacitive discharge electronic
control box, it doesn't replace the points.  But it does have a built in,
easily adjustable rev-limiter.  Now, all I have to do is find a way to drop
the limit by 1,000 rpm when my co-driver, who I've not beaten yet this year,
gets in the car!
