Over in the TR8 & TR7 mail list we have recently discussed the current
status of a company called Quickor Engineering - a company which used
to make high quality sway bars and suspension parts for all sorts of
different sporting equipment. I thought some of you folks in the general
Triumph list might also be interested... please feel free to pass along
to others.
Quickor came up because several people were looking for suspension parts
for autocrossing. The company had seemingly disappeared, so we tracked
them down.
Quickor operated from 1972 to 1987 in Portland, Oregon (USA) and their
equipment was very well received - well designed, excellent performance,
etc. In 1987 they were acquired by Warn Industries, who build similar
equipment for 4 wheel drive/off road applications. Warn essentially
abandonded the sports car products and market.
As of February of this year the original owner of Quickor has reacquired
the rights to his designs, engineering spec's, pictures of the earlier
work and so forth. Unfortunately the patterns for the earlier products
were destroyed by Warn.
Quickor is currently concentrating on the US domestic restorations market
but is interested in anything that will generate business. His name is
Glenn (sorry, didn't get the last name) and he can be reached by voice
line at (800) 786-9896, or via email at Quickor.AOL.
