In an article written on 10 Sep, Nick requested information and suggestions on replacing the shocks on his '75 Spit. First, the rear shocks are simple and straight-forward. One bolt each top and bottom. Support the axle while the shock is out. Second, the fronts are a little more involved. Get a _good_ spring compressor. These are coil over, and without a spring compressor, you'll go nuts trying to collapse the spring. It can be done, but it isn't easy. A spring compressor will make even the front shocks simple to replace. Doug Mitchell |
