What!? You have a light! (mine has a hole where a light ought to be!)

The PO of my car showed me how to open the dash during
the show/negotiate session. Take your plastic coated drivers
license, insert beside the latch, and pry it open while pushing
the release button. I've tried, but haven't found a better way.

It seems there should be a spring pushing things open or something???

(I have this image of being stopped by the cops, showing license,
then asking for it back so I can get the registration out of the dash.)
