Hi All,
Remember my warning about the diff which killed the gearbox
in it's fall down ?
I've removed both now and indeed, the gearbox died because of
the diff.
Turning upside down the diff said enough.......not to mention
the gearbox.......
But lucky me, next week I'll be driving again after a short visit
to mr. Kipping :-))
Anyway, while removing the diff something else succeded to schock
me....
One of the center beams has died in the battle against the weather
(vertical side near left to the diff) and when I looked better I
found more rotten places around the diff side.
Question is, is it possible and safe to cut out all the rotten spots
and replace it with new material ?
The center beams are not replacable, at least not when still under
the car, and I have to tell that it already has been welded once.
So is it smart to cut out one side completely and then replace it
with new material ?
Thanks,
Lennart Broekhof
