In reference to my question on curing exhaust manifold dressings:
Just wanted to say thanks to all those who have typed suggestions to me.
Some were very good, some were not so . . .. hot (sorry)
It is funny. The next day a lady called and asked me to house sit for her
while she went on vacation. Sure I could use her oven!!! Naw. I'm
chicken. It really does say right on the can "Cure in a well ventilated
area. Noxious fumes are produced during the curing process" I'd feel bad if
I killed her cat.
Mom happens to be a real artist type. She quickly slapped the Kaibosh on the
kiln idea. She said those potters and glass blowers are nuts about what goes
in their ovens. Might make the glaze crack on a pot or something.
So I'm gonna go the gas grille route. Put the thermometer on it today.
Easily topped the 400 degree mark. Shouldn't be a problem, but if it is, res
t assured I will let the list know so nobody makes the same mistakes.
