I admire you guy's putting up with emission controled cars on shitty
petrol. I didn't realise that there was any/many Triumph supporters in
Nth America: I spend 2 months up your way and I only saw about 6
Triumphs). Down Under in New Zealand we have heaps of Triumphs and for
a small country (Pop:3M) we have heaps of strong clubs and Triumphs
are a major force in Classic Racing (Out of the Triumph's the TR8's do
most of the winning and there's a few fast TR6's).

We are quite lucky that our petrol is not unleaded (yet) and its 96
Octane (although most Triumphs were designed for 100).There are heaps
of Herald's and Saloons to steal parts off for the sports car range.
(we usually get given whole cars as long as we take them away). I
currently have a TR6-CP (thats the proper one with 150HP fuel
injection: although its been boosted to 170HP with a few minor mod's)
which I drive to work in (& the occational race), a GT6 convertable
(like a Mk IV spitfire with a 2l 6 cyl, rotoflex rear and bulged
bonnet) and a bastardised Mk II spitfire (1600 twin cam 4AGE, 4 wheel
vented disks, true fully independant rear etc etc) which gets used for
hillclimbs, curcuit racing and going on holiday (its a bit bent at the
moment because my wife rolled it a couple of weeks ago).

Anyway I'd better split before I bore you all too much: I just thought
you'd like to hear from someone who doesn't have a problem (and is
happy with the speed of their cars)

     Regards... Shane

PS: If anyone is passing this way and wants to check out an event send
     me an message.
