Hello All
I am swapping from a 3.54 Trac Lock rear to a 2.88 open using the 19 spline=
axels and course yoke which came out of the car.=C2=A0 Everything was goin=
g fine until tightened the phillips nut on the backing plate and reinstalli=
ng the brakes.=C2=A0 Now the axels are completely locked up and will not tu=
rn.
The pin on the Trac Lock was about 1" and the pine on the open carrier is a=
bout 1/2".=C2=A0 This is about the only big difference I can see between th=
e 2 carriers.=C2=A0 Not sure if this has any bearing but thought I should m=
ention it.
I am starting to think the axels might have been shortened to fit in the Tr=
ac Lock carrier.=C2=A0Does anyone know the length of the stock 19 spline ax=
els without the flange installed?=C2=A0 Measuring the axel lengths are the =
next step we are planning to take.
Does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be and the correct axel l=
engths?
Thanks in advance.=C2=A0 Getting frustrated.
Joel Martin
