My Mark IA, VIN 1447, has unmolested original paint in that area. Hinges are
100% body color.

As my car is being painted the original Forest Green I decided to forego the
black paint as it wouldn't be needed.
It will be dark enough
that it won't contrast with the factory black painted "snout."
